<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working machine with an external control box which can effectively suppress the increase of internal temperature and which hardly causes a hindrance for work. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This working machine such as a hydraulic excavator or the like includes the control box 6 which incorporates a cab 3, an attachment 4, an engine compartment 5, a generator 13 and a control panel 34 for the generator 13. An air-cooled type heat-exchanging device 15 for cooling an engine 14 is mounted in the engine compartment 5, and the control box 6 is arranged above a first opening 31 which communicates with the outside air intake 22 formed in the upper part of the engine compartment 5.
