PURPOSE: An exhaust gas recirculation device for an internal combustion engine is provided to remove an accumulated material in a hot wire by forcedly heating the hot wire of the air heater when the pressure difference between the front and rear sides of the air heater is generated. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas recirculation device for an internal combustion engine includes an EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) pipe(40) and an accumulated material removing unit. The exhaust gas which is exhausted from the engine is recirculated to the suction pipe through the EGR pipe. The exhaust gas is supplied to the engine by passing through a hot wire. The accumulated material removing unit prevents foreign materials like a carbon or suite from being accumulated in a hot wire of an air heater. The accumulated material removing unit includes a pair of differential pressure sensors(62,64) and a controller(70). If differential pressure between the front and rear sides of the air heater occurs, the controller removes the accumulated material of the hot wire by heating the hot wire of the air heater forcedly.
