<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for maintenance of bone health and prevention, alleviation and/or treatment of bone/joint disorders each in mammals; and to provide a method for promotion of bone growth or maintenance of bone health including the use of the composition in the manufacture of a nutritional product, supplement, snack confectionery or medicaments, and the administration of an effective dosage of the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The composition contains at least one kind of vegetable or vegetable extract selected in accordance with its ability to induce expression of bone-forming protein as active ingredient so that the vegetable or the vegetable extract further prevents bone reabsorption.
