<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lawn-protecting material including an upper frame and a lower frame, and having an engagement means for a base frame and the upper frame designed so that the top of the upper frame is lower than the base frame. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lawn-protecting material is laid on a basis and includes the base frame and the upper frame. The base frame and the upper frame each comprise a tread pressure part and a water-permeable part, and is structured as follows: the tread pressure part of the base frame comprises a crown conical cylinder part with its upper end closed and its bottom end opened; a stepwise decreasing step part is formed at the shoulder part of the crown conical cylinder part; an engagement hole is made between the step part and the top part; the upper tread pressure part is flat and is provided with a space allowed to be engaged with the top of the base tread pressure part at its center; the edge of the upper tread pressure part is provided with a support part supported by the step part set up to the base tread pressure part; engagement nails are formed at the support part so that the engagement nails can be engaged with the engagement holes made between the step part and the top part; and the uppermost part of the upper frame is set up so as to be lower than the uppermost part of the base tread pressure part.
