<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof structure for a vehicle body in which the weight of a roof part and the number of welded parts can be reduced. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plurality of roof bows 40 are provided between a pair of side roof rails 20, 21 with an interval in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. A bracket 48 of an approximately L shape is provided on the roof bow 40. A stiffener 35 has an upper flange 131, a lower flange 132 and a vertical wall 133, and a cross section is an approximately Z shape. The side roof cross bow 41 has: a cross bow body 50 of a hat-like shape cross section; and a reinforcement plate 51 joined to a lower surface side of the cross bow body 50, and forms a closed cross section structure. A projection part 70 is formed by making width in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body of the reinforcement plate 51 larger than width in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body of the cross bow body 50. A support surface 70a is formed on an upper part of the projection part 70. The upper flange 131 of the stiffener 35 is fixed to an upper surface wall 48a of the bracket 48 and the lower flange 132 of the stiffener 35 is fixed to the support surface 70a.
