<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston cooling device simply and inexpensively in which a piston is not cooled during warm-up operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The piston cooling device includes a check valve 8 having an upstream port 8c opening on the side of an oil pump and a downstream port 8d opening on the side of an oil jet 21, in an upstream passage of the oil jet 21. The check valve 8 includes: a movable body 23 which moves in directions of the upstream port 8c and the downstream port 8d; a spring member 24 which energizes the movable body 23 such that the upstream port 8c is closed; a first sheet 25 which closes the upstream port 8c by a seat of the movable body 23 if the movable body 23 moves in the direction of the upstream port 8c; and a second sheet 26 which has an opening 26a, is disposed between the movable body 23 and the downstream port 8d, and closes the opening 26a by a seat of the movable body 23 if the movable body 23 moves in the direction of the downstream port 8d.
