<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin film which causes less burrs and cracks at the cut edges even if the film is easy to tear and fragile, causes less cracks and loosening of the edge due to a high edge, etc., when wound into a roll, is excellent in production stability in forming the roll and subsequent processing steps, and is suitable for use in optical applications, especially in a polarizer protection film and the like, and to provide a process for producing the resin film. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The resin film roll is obtained by winding the resin film with swells, a height of which is 5-30 μm, at the cut edges across the width and a protection film which is narrower than the resin film and laminated on at least one side of the resin film.
