<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor capable of improving a fill factor (FF) and preventing the generation of charge sharing; and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This image sensor includes: a readout circuit formed on a first substrate; an electric junction region formed on the first substrate so as to be electrically connected to the readout circuit; wiring formed on an interlayer insulation layer formed on the first substrate so as to be electrically connected to the electric junction region; and an image sensing portion formed on the wiring so as to include a first conductivity-type conduction layer and a second conductivity-type conduction layer.
