<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide silencing chambers without increasing special man-hours when providing the silencing chambers in an air cleaner, as when silencing cover members of the same number as the silencing chambers are attached and fixed, the man-hours are increased. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sealed space formed by a first case part 123 and a sub air cleaner cover 133 is partitioned into a clean side 144 on an intake air device side and a dirty side on the opposite side thereof by a first element 138. The dirty side is partitioned into three rooms of first to third silencing chambers 141-143 by a separator assembly 140. The first silencing chamber 141 is communicated with the atmosphere by a first communication pipe 126, the second silencing chamber 142 is communicated with the first silencing chamber 141 by a second communication pipe 147 provided to a first separator 145 and is communicated with the third silencing chamber 143 by a third communication pipe 148 provided to a second separator 146. The separator assembly 140 is held between the first case part 123 and the sub air cleaner cover 133 and forms the first to third silencing chambers 141-143 at the same time.
