<p>1,125,222. Monoazo dyes. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 19 Jan., 1966 [20 Jan., 1965], No. 2426/66. Heading C4P. The invention comprises dyes of the general formula wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are alkyl radicals which may be substituted and R<SP>3</SP> may also be hydrogen, and A is a p-phenylene radical which may be substituted, the dyes being free of ionic water-solubilizing groups. Preferably the dyes have the general formula wherein Y is hydrogen, a C 1 -C 4 alkyl or alkoxy group, CF 3 , an acylamino group having 4 or less carbon atoms or is halogen, Z is hydrogen or a C 1 -C 4 alkyl or alkoxy group and R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are as defined above. In a more preferred form R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are -C 2 H 4 R<SP>4</SP> or -C 2 H 4 R<SP>5</SP> groups wherein R<SP>4</SP> and R<SP>5</SP> are CN, halogen, hydroxyl C 1 -C 4 alkoxy groups, or acyloxy or carbalkoxy groups having 2 to 4 carbon atoms. They are prepared by diazotization and coupling of the corresponding amine and coupling components. The dyes dye fibres, filaments, yarn, flock and woven and knitted fabrics of cellulose acetate, polyesters and polyamides in red, ruby, scarlet and violet shades.</p> |
