PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an existing automatic voltage regulator for power distribution in which a protective cover is easily attached to a tap position inspection window even for a field assembled article. SOLUTION: In the automatic voltage regulator for power distribution in which the tap position inspection window is provided on a side surface of a case so as to confirm a tap position from outside the case, protective cover metal fittings are clamped and fixed to an outer periphery of a window fitting seat with a Jubilee band, and the protective cover metal fittings comprise ring-shaped metal fittings having a cut partially in a peripheral direction, a bolt fitting seat fitted opposite an upper end of the ring-shaped metal fittings, and a protective cover support bolt fixed to the bolt fitting seat. The protective cover is provided in a turnable manner along a flat surface of a transparent member to make a choice between a position where the tap position inspection window is covered while the protective cover is supported with the protective cover support bolt and a position where the tap position inspection window is not covered.
