<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine 1 with a brushless structure that has a function of an electric transmission. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine is provided with: a first rotor 7 rotating integrally with an input shaft 4; a second rotor 8 arranged to the radial outside of the first rotor 7 with a gap therebetween so as to rotate integrally with an output shaft 6; and a stator 9 arranged to the radial outside of the second rotor 8 with a gap therebetween. The first rotor 7 includes each permanent magnet 12 for generating a magnetic field. The second rotor 8 includes: a three phase AC winding 15 wound on the inner diameter side of a second rotor core 14; a field winding 16 wound on the outer diameter side of the second rotor core 14; and a commutator that converts an AC voltage generated in the three phase AC winding 15 into a DC voltage so as to supply it to the field winding 16.
