PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner for reducing influence of external force acting on the optical scanner, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The optical scanner includes adjustment pins 70, 72 so as to be overlapped on a positioning pin 62 on side view of a casing 56 on a lower wall 56B of the casing 56 and so as to be point-symmetrical by regarding the positioning pin 62 as a reference. Displacement occurs due to stress acting on the casing 56 when minutely adjusting optical components, and the casing 56 is not rotated by providing the adjustment pins 70, 72 engageable with an adjustment fixture 74. Thereby the optical scanner suppresses the displacement of the optical components generated due to rotating the casing 56 when aligning the optical components in the casing 56.
