The implant (1) has a threaded portion (3) for fitting to a vertebra, and a coating provided on a surface of the implant, where the coating includes hydroxyapatite. An osseointegration promoting unit comprise a surface for growing the vertebra, where the implant is created by a material i.e. titanium. A screw (4) tightness the vertebra and the implant. An independent claim is also included for a method for fixing a vertebra through a pedicle implant.
