PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new service using a present position obtaining function, in a portable terminal device. SOLUTION: A map display system 10 includes a plurality of portable terminals 200 having display panels 202 and respectively carried by a plurality of users, and a server system 1000. The server system 1000 obtains information about a plurality of present positions respectively indicating present positions of the plurality of portable terminals 200, and groups the plurality of portable terminals 200 by the same train unit, according to the information of the plurality of present positions. The server system 1000 produces group characteristic information such as the degree of congestion of trains corresponding to the groups, and the number of vehicles; and transmits that to the portable terminals 200 functioning as information target terminals.
