<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that allows a server device to quickly respond to a request from a client terminal device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A server device includes: a storage part 12 for holding each file; an information acquiring part 120 for acquiring client information; a file generating part 116 for generating each file having a format different from that of each file held by the storage part 12 about material data of each file held by the storage part 12; a determination part 117 that determines whether to generate a request file by the file generating part 116 or to generate the request file by the client terminal device on the basis of the client information when the corresponding material data is not held by the storage part 12 in a format of the request file transmitted from a certain client terminal device, however, the corresponding material data is held by the storage part in another file format; and a transmitting file deciding part 118 that decides the type of file to be transmitted to the client terminal device on the basis of the result determined by the determination part 117.
