In a box-shaped frame for a crosshead type engine, opposite side walls 2 of the frame are provided with horizontal ribs 6 intersecting a vertical rib 7, brackets 9 for supporting the crosshead guide 8 being fixed at the intersections of the ribs 6, 7. The ribs 6 are welded to the wall 2 and one end is welded to the adjacent side wall 3. The guide 8 is secured to the brackets by bolts 10. |
