The device has a sensor unit provided with a transmitter unit and a receiver unit, which are provided in dependence of movement between a transparent windscreen (2) and a housing frame of a display carrier (6), and a fixed location with a characteristics curve relative to the windscreen and the housing frame. The curve exhibits linear characteristics at certain circumference of the movement and a measuring range resulting from the movement regarding an output signal. The transmitter unit comprises a transmitter, which transmits non-visible light i.e. infrared LED.
