The invention relates to a novel jewellery/decorative element (1, 1', 1'', 1''') for simple fastening to an upper clothing item (5), in particular a shirt or a blouse. The decorative element comprises two structure portions which are connected to one another via a connection region and between which a closing button (4) of the upper clothing item (5) can be enclosed with little clearance. The jewellery or decorative element (1, 1', 1'', 1''') can preferably be worn in the lower region of the torso and allows the substitution of traditional decorative elements such as ties. The jewellery/decorative element according to the invention makes it possible to provide a novel trend in the sector of  ladies' and men's fashion which fully includes new types of jewellery, advertising carriers and decorative articles.
