PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise information search apparatus that searches at a user's request and provides information desired by the user by ranking search results according to timely information such as recent news and topics.

SOLUTION: The merchandise information search apparatus 10 includes a merchandise information DB 21. The merchandise information DB 21 is searched on a search query received from a user's terminal 60a, and a ranking based on resultant merchandise search scores is stored in a merchandise information search result DB 22. The Web is also searched on the same search query via a search engine, and Web search results are stored in a Web search result DB 31. The merchandise information search result information ranking is re-created for sending to the user's terminal 60a according to Web search scores computed on the basis of the degree of matching between the merchandise information search result information stored in the merchandise information search result DB 22 and the Web search result information stored in the Web search result DB 31.
