BROADCAST RECEIVER FOR DISPLAYING DESCRIPTION OF TERMINOLOGY INCLUDED IN DIGITAL CAPTIONS AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING DIGITAL CAPTIONS APPLYING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A broadcast receiver for displaying description of a terminology included in digital captions and a method for processing digital captions applied to the same are provided to display explanation on a screen by searching description for terminology. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting receiver(110) receives a broadcast signal containing digital caption information. A storage unit(180) stores a target description term list for terminology. If a terminology for explanation included in the list exists among terminology included in the digital caption information, a control unit(160) searches the explanation. A display unit(146) displays the explanation for the terminology on a screen.
