An epoxy resin composition which comprises an epoxy resin and a thermal cationic polymerization initiator. It can diminish fluorine ion generation in thermal cationic polymerization to improve resistance to electrolytic corrosion and has excellent low-temperature rapid curability. The thermal cationic polymerization initiator is a sulfonium borate complex represented by the formula (1). (1) In the formula (1), Ris aralkyl and Ris lower alkyl, provided that when Ris methyl, then Ris not benzyl; X is halogeno; and n is an integer of 1-3. |
