Disclosed is a manufacturing method for a polyester particle dispersion liquid comprising a step wherein (1) amorphous polyester having 2.0-12.0 mol% of a constituent unit derived from a trivalent or higher carboxylic acid with respect to the total constituent units of all of the amorphous polyester and (2) starting material polyester containing crystalline polyester are emulsified in an aqueous medium in a reaction container, or a step wherein the starting material polyester is mixed with an organic solvent, after which an aqueous solution is added and emulsification is performed in a reaction container. Further disclosed are a polyester particle dispersion liquid obtained with the method, an electrophotographic toner that is obtained by agglomerating and coalescing said polyester particle dispersion liquid and that has excellent low-temperature fixative property and resistance to hot offset, and a manufacturing method therefor.
