<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical member using not only a cellulose derivative but other materials (such as an acryl polymer and polycycloolefin) and providing an optical member showing reverse wavelength dispersion as well as high flexibility of controlling the dispersion. <P>SOLUTION: The method is provided to obtain an optical member showing such wavelength dispersion that the birefringence decreases as the wavelength in a visible ray region is reduced and having a layered structure of a substrate and a stretched body of a resin (B) by: (I) laminating the resin (B) that contains a polymer (A) having a α,β-unsaturated monomer unit having a hetero-aromatic group as a structural unit and that shows negative specific birefringence on a substrate made of a resin (C) having positive specific birefringence and showing such wavelength dispersion that the birefringence increases as the wavelength in a visible ray region is reduced, and stretching it; or (II) laminating the resin on a substrate made of the resin (C) having positive specific birefringence and showing positive wavelength dispersion after stretching.
