An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing transmission apparatus for transmitting an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signal including known signals, the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing transmission apparatus comprising: a determining section adapted to determine the number of the known signals to be inserted in a first information signal to be transmitted in a user channel and to determine the number of the known signals to be inserted in a second information signal to be transmitted in a specific channel that requires a higher communication quality than the user channel, wherein the number of the known signals to be inserted in the second information signal is greater than the number of the known signals to be inserted in the first information signal; a known signal inserting section adapted to insert the determined number of the known signals in the first information signal and to insert the determined number of the known signals in the second information signal; and a transmit signal generating section adapted to generate an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing transmit signal by performing inverse Fourier transform processing on the first information signal, the second information signal and the known signals.
