<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of renewing the content of the ROM of a peripheral processor simply and certainly without applying load to a user. <P>SOLUTION: In a PC 2, printing data ϕ1 and renewing data ϕ2 are converted to one continuous data row ϕ4 by a driver program 14 and this data row ϕ4 is transmitted to a printer 3. When the printer 3 receives the data row ϕ4, the renewing data ϕ2 is extracted in the printer 3 and the content of a flash ROM 32 is renewed on the basis of the renewing data ϕ2. Since the content of the flash ROM 32 of the printer 3 is renewed only by performing printing processing, the content of the flash ROM 32 can be renewed simply and certainly without applying load to a user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
