<p>Provided is an image processing device, with which an operator can easily change a subject to be detected in accordance with a diagnostic purpose to detect a lesion region. An image processing device (100) is configured such that a parameter used for the detection of lesion candidates from a surface image of an organ can be set when carrying out the detection of the lesion candidate regions. A parameter to be set (P1) is a polyp diameter, for example, and a value according to every mode or a value desired by an operator can be inputted. A CPU (101) further calculates a parameter (P2) such as a differential distance between reference points from the set parameter (P1), and uses the parameter (P2) to calculate a shape (a curvature value) of each point on the organ surface, thereby extracting a point corresponding to a predetermined shape as a lesion candidate region. The CPU (101) further calculates characteristic amounts such as a region diameter and the degree of circularity on the extracted lesion candidate region, judges in accordance with the characteristic amounts whether the extracted lesion candidate region corresponds to a lesion candidate, and deletes false positive region.</p> |
