<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical formulation having a reproducible site and time controlled release of glucocorticoids regardless of food intake by patient, particularly at a desired site in the intestine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The solution is given by the pharmaceutical formulation having site- and time-controlled releasing action of glucocorticoid which is composed of (a) a core having at least one glucocorticoid which rapidly releases glucocorticoid by contact of the core with gastrointestinal juice and having at least one swellable adjuvant; and (b) a compression molded inactive coating, which coating substantially controls the release of glucocorticoid for a predetermined period after administration of the formulation.
