To form wall charges at each electrode such that the sustain discharge is generated, a positive voltage is applied to a plurality of sustain electrodes after a scan pulse is applied to the scan electrodes in an address period and before the first sustain pulse is applied to the plurality of scan electrodes in a sustain period.
