<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording tape cartridge which prevents release of rotation locking of a reel with respect to a case accompanying dropping of the recording tape cartridge. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The tape recording cartridge 10 is configured to rotatably accommodate within a case 12 a reel 40 that has a magnetic tape T wound on a reel hub 42. Within the reel hub 42, external teeth 82A of a brake gear 82, of a brake member 80 that is supported so as to be non-rotatable with respect to the case 12, mesh with an engaging gear 54 having internal teeth 54A, preventing rotation of the reel 40 with respect to the case 12. Lock portions 93 of lock members 90 are inserted between the reel 40 positioned biased to a bottom panel 16A side by a compression coil spring 78, and a top panel 14A, thereby preventing movement of the reel 40 with respect to the case 12 in the axial direction.
