The imager (110) has photodiodes (12) incorporated in a semi-conductor substrate (11a). A matrix (ACE1) of colored elements (E1-E3) realizes a filtering function to filter an incident light (LR) directed towards the photodiodes and a convergence micro lens function with respect to the incident light. The colored elements comprise respective convex upper surfaces presenting different convexities based on color of the colored elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating an imager.
