<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of facilitating user operation while being held within a communicable range of proximity wireless communication and a control method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: When connection with an external device by the proximity wireless communication is established, remote control setting is checked (S702). When setting for prohibiting operations by a remote controller is performed, the setting is changed to the one for permitting the operation by the remote controller (S704).
