<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a joining member joined in a joined state with high adhesion and excellent thermal shock resistance without remaining an unnecessary substance such as joining material at a joining part and without roughening the joined surface in the joining of members consisting essentially of silica. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The joining member is prepared by passing through steps: a step of hydrophilicizing a joining surface by immersing the joining surface in an acid or alkali aqueous solution, a step of joining temporarily a joining part without being brought into contact with air by immersing the joining surface in a joining agent of a silane compound solution selected from either one of chlorosilane, silane coupling agent and silazane, and a step of taking out the temporarily joined part member from the solution and subjecting the temporarily joined part member to final bonding under pressure and heating.
