The head (1) has cylinders (2,2a,2b) arranged in rows, where longitudinal axes (14) of the cylinders run parallel to each other. Each cylinder has outlets (3) to discharge exhaust gases from the cylinders. Exhaust pipes (4) are attached at the outlet and are combined to a common exhaust pipe under formation of an integrated exhaust gas manifold (7) that emerges from an outer wall (11) of the head. An oil return line (8) integrated in the head is aligned in the direction of the longitudinal axes. The oil return line is arranged on a side of the manifold, where the side faces the cylinders.
