<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To totally suppress a discharge of exhaust emission (especially HC) caused by purge of evaporative fuel during operation of an engine. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for controlling the engine in a hybrid vehicle provided with a dual fuel engine operated in one of a first fuel (for example, hydrogen gas) operation mode and a second fuel (for example, gasoline) operation mode and the other drive source. The method includes: an engine control step of controlling the engine in the selected operation mode; a purge execution condition determination step of determining whether or not a purge execution condition is satisfied during operation of the engine; and a purge execution step. The purge execution condition determination step includes a determination threshold changing step of setting a determination threshold in the operation mode by the first fuel and a determination threshold in the operation mode by the second fuel to different values so that the purge execution condition is easily satisfied in the operation mode by the second fuel in comparison with the operation mode by the first fuel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
