A constant velocity universal joint consists of balls 11 movable along axial grooves in the driving and driven members 1, 2 and carried by a bisecting cage 8 operated by a control lever 6 free to move axially. The intermediate ball pivot 6b is carried in the cage 8 and the end pivots 6a, 6c are received in sockets 3, 9 axially loaded by spring washers 4, 4a. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the lever 6 is replaced by a rhombic linkage. |
