PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire information from a database of a remote environment by simple input operation. SOLUTION: A Japanese Kana character generation part 15 generates a Kana character string on the basis of key operation. A list generation part 16 refers to a search dictionary 14 to extract dictionary entries including the Kana character string in readings to display a list of search titles included in the dictionary entries. One search title in the list is further specified on the basis of the key operation, a record identifier corresponding to the search title is extracted, and a browse request including the record identifier is sent to an information providing system 300.
