PARTICLE FOR DISPLAY MEDIUM AND INFORMATION DISPLAY PANEL EMPLOYING THE SAME

Particles for constituting a display medium for use in an information display panel which comprises two opposed substrates at least one of which is transparent and a display medium enclosed in the space between the substrates, information being displayed by moving the display medium.  The display-medium particles each comprises a composite particle constituted of: a base particle (32) formed from a raw material comprising a base resin; and smaller particles (33) adherent to the surface thereof.  The base resin is a thermoplastic resin having a viscosity, as measured at 260°C and a shear rate of 122 s-1, of 1,000 Pa·s or lower and having a heat-resistance temperature of 430°C or higher.  Since the resin has been specified with respect to optimal conditions concerning viscosity and heat-resistance temperature, the particles produced can be efficiently rounded by subjecting the particles to a heat treatment for rounding as a post-treatment.
