PURPOSE: A system and a method for preventing illegal use of a work based on time are provided to prevent a user to install a work if allowed time expires, thereby preventing illegal use of a work based on time. CONSTITUTION: An approval server(130) mounts a program for encoding approval time. The approval server generates an approval symbol encoding approval time. If a work is installed, a computer(112) requests the approval symbol. An installation time is compared with an extracted approval time after an installation program of the computer extracts the approval time.
