PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form images on both sides of a paper sheet by a one-time conveyance of the paper sheet, without making a structure more complex than needed. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 comprises an electrophotographic module including: an image developing section 10 that develops toner image to be printed on paper sheet 9; a first transfer roller 11 that is disposed opposite the image developing section 10, having between them a paper conveyance path for conveying paper sheet 9, and applies a transfer voltage to transfer the toner image to the first main side 9a of the paper sheet 9; a transfer conveyance belt 12 that passes between the image developing section 10 and the first transfer roller 11 and circulates, while bearing the toner image transferred from the image developing section 10; a second transfer roller 13 that applies a transfer voltage to transfer the toner image, borne by the transfer conveyance belt 12, to the second main side 9b of the paper sheet 9. The image forming apparatus is configured, by connecting an image forming unit 2 including the electrophotographic module, a paper feed unit 3, and a fixing unit 4 so that they are freely detached.
