<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide apparatus, methods, and systems for centrally and seamlessly controlling the operation of devices using a user interface. <P>SOLUTION: The method of optimizing the recording process in a home entertainment system includes a television and one or more audio or video devices coupled to the television. The one or more audio or video devices include one or more recording sink devices.
