PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of reducing variations in temperature of a heating member for heating a material to be heated while reducing heat capacity of the heating member, with respect to a fixing device for an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The fixing device has a heating member having diamond fine particles dispersed at least in its surface layer, a pressing member which comes in press contact with the heating member and nips and carries a sheet in collaboration with the heating member, and a heating unit which heats the heating member.
