LABEL ATTACHING APPARATUS

Generation of a trace of a suction hole due to a suction drum is eliminated when a label is attached to a container. A label attaching apparatus (1) sucks a label (L), which has a thermosensitive adhesive (11) applied on one surface, onto a surface of a suction drum (3) having many suction holes (302), and the label is transferred to a predetermined attaching position (P) at a fixed speed (v1) in a state where the label is heated by the suction drum (3) and the thermosensitive adhesive (11) is activated.  Then, the label (L) is attached on a side surface of a container (B) by bringing the side surface of the container (B) into contact with the label (L) with a pressure while rotating the container.  The label attaching apparatus (1) adheres a leading end of the label (L) on the container (B) by rotating the container (B) at a circumferential speed (v2) higher than the circumferential speed (v1) of the suction drum (3) in the attaching operation, then, the label attaching apparatus pulls the label (L) by rotation of the container (B), and the label (L) is permitted to slide on a suction surface of the suction drum (3) at a relative speed (v2-v1).  Thus, the position of the suction hole (302) on the label (L) is shifted, and a protruding section (12) due to suction by the suction hole (302) does not generate when the label (L) is attached to the container (B).
