<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair contributing to a reduction in a user's burden and an improvement of the seating comfort by effectively inclining the seat surface of the chair in the front/rear/right/left despite a simple structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This chair has a rocking mechanism for inclining the seat surface in the front/rear/right/left, wherein the rocking mechanism has an upper seat plate and a lower seat plate vertically layered into two stages, a plurality of resilient bodies connected between both the seat plates, and curved surface parts relatively rocking both thereof, at a substantially central part in the lower surface of the upper seat plate and a substantially central part in the upper surface of the lower seat plate, where the upper seat plate and the lower seat plate come into contact. The curved surface parts at the lower surface of the upper seat plate and the upper surface of the lower seat plate may be constituted of a substantially dome-like projection part and a substantially dome-like recessed part. A protrusion may be provided at the top of the substantially dome-like projection part and a hole fitted to the projection may be provided at the top of the substantially dome-like recessed part.
