<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inlet boot device of a passenger conveyer handrail, high in safety with respect to pinching or drawing out of foreign matter, and easily returned. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The inlet boot device with C-shaped cross section has a front edge and a rear edge, a slit axially extended from the front edge to the rear edge of the boot body made of elastic material and at least partially splitting a side wall into first and second side wall parts, and an extensible connection element disposed to be related to the slit and mutually connecting the first and second side wall parts. The inlet boot device is high in safety with respect to pinching of foreign matter, the foreign matter once pinched can be easily pulling out therefrom, and the inlet boot device can be easily restored.
