PURPOSE: A light emitting device with plural cells is provided to minimize the number of ripple elements during AC operation by connecting an electrode of a light emitting device chip and a rectification circuit. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting cell comprises a substrate(20), buffer layers(30) successively laminated on the substrate, an N-type semiconductor layer(40), an active layer(50), a P-type semiconductor layer(60), and an N-type pad(95). Light emitting cells(100-1 to 100-n) are serially connected. The N-type semiconductor layer and the P-type semiconductor layer of the adjacent light emitting cells are electrically connected to each other. The N-type pad is formed on the N-type semiconductor layer of the light emitting cell of one end The P-type pad is formed on the P-type semiconductor layer of the light emitting cell of the other end. The N-type semiconductor layer and the P-type semiconductor layer of the adjacent light emitting cells are electrically connected to each other through the metal wire(80-1~80-n).
