<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image quality adjustment method decreasing consumption of image forming materials (for example, toner) required for image quality adjustment, and shortening the required time for the image quality adjustment (process control), while keeping up both convenience for a user and stability of the image quality, and also to provide an image forming apparatus and a computer program. <P>SOLUTION: When an image recording job is completed in which an image formed on a photoconductor drum 101a is recorded on a recording sheet and the recording sheet is conveyed, a simple process control is carried out in which a few solid patch images are formed with some toner. After the simple process control is carried out, whether to carry out a normal process control in which many patch images are formed with much toner, is determined based on a charge control value of a charge roller 103a adjusted by the simple process control (a voltage value applied to the charge roller 103a).
