<p>Iron pyrites is concd. and undesirable trace elements removed by treatment in a cyclone furnace. The dry finely ground material is blown in tangentially by pre-heated air, and secondary air, enriched with oxygen, is blown in separately. The sulphide is oxidised to produce SO2 and this and the trace elements such as Zn, Pb and As are drawn off as waste gas.</p> |
