PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which prevents a reinforcing bar from being twisted and bent during bending work. SOLUTION: A reinforcing bar machining device is provided with a bending base 1 having an attitude along a vertical direction, a bending-work part 6 for bending a reinforcing bar along the surface of the bending base 1 on the bending base 1, and a shearing blade for cutting the reinforcing bar supplied to the bending-work part 6. A hard covering plate 14 covering the bending movability range of the reinforcing bar of the bending-work part 6 is arranged along the surface of the bending base 1 while forming a gap allowing the bending movability of the reinforcing bar along the surface of the bending base 1 between itself and the bending base 1.
