<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a feeder by which fear for a needle breakage and/or missed stitches is reduced, and to realize a sewing machine equipped with the feeder. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sewing machine includes a needle plate which has a needle plate cutout section, and a needle bar which has a sewing machine needle. The needle bar vertically moves on the needle plate. This feeder is arranged in the needle plate cutout section for performing the feeding movement. The feeder is designed in a manner to be friction-engaged with a fabric and to perform the feeding movement and adjacent to a needle moving region. In addition, the feeder has a base body, and the feeding section is fix-connected with a feeder carrier through the base body. A feeder wall is arranged under the feeder section and adjacent to the needle moving region. The feeder wall is designed in a manner to extend to the side of the needle being away from a stitch forming tool which interacts with a needle during a sewing process when the feeder is attached.
